One Command Block

Hey everyone! Im a big fan of one command block creations and would love to see them on the server! The real question would be what could be added and not downgrade overall gameplay? I would love to see a few moderators participate in the thread!

 

Command blocks are not a good idea to me. People could get access to commands they should not. And people are going to start spamming commands. In my opinion command blocks in servers are not a good idea..

 

see what Im getting at is that players cant access the command blocks. The features can be used but overall the moderators are the ones who run them and what they do. Players cannot spam what they do not have.

 

One command blocks are laggy sometimes and using too many might glitch the server.

 

ok now we are getting somewhere! what about the simple ones, such as custom weapons for hg/ bridges or falling stone for factions? w=WIll they still work for multiplayer?

 

they're not even necessary though.. the server is fine as it is.

 

And that's what I was also wondering about, Could you add in custom items using plugins?

 

Yes. We had a plugin called custom enchants in the past for kitpvp. In my opinion, it was fun, but it changed Minecraft pvp too much. Thats partly why we stick with vanilla items.

 

Maybe after factions 2.1, Prison 2.0 and everything else that was planned gets released, there could be 2 kitpvps (kitpvp 3 and a custom enchanted kitpvp).

 

As someone who works with command blocks a lot i can say with no doubt that command blocks can't be assessed by none staff member without mega hacking. There is a creative only (and i think op only) access for command blocks.With the lagg it creates thats only with huge builds such as before 1.9 builds of redstone repeat systems to make things like a one command map. If you have a small static system (meaning it cannot change person to person) and there isn't anything like breaking blocks in huge numbers or really crazy models then it runs without lagg.I have seen servers use ONLY command blocks (keep in mind these servers have a whitelist) for simple to complex things.

But i would STRONGLY avoid using command blocks here. At least until the server completely goes to a 1.9 system or separates the two 1.8 and 1.9 mini servers. 1.9 has changed a few commands and the way commands are run. With the things you are asking plugins would be better anyway and would cause way less lag.

 

I'd agree with plugins taking precedence over command blocks and waiting until the servers have a more defined separation. I'd only really include them for special purposes, like the hermitcraft sleeping system. When prison 2.0 is released adding that command block setup would basically set it up to where when one person sleeps it sets the time to day, instead of having to wait for everyone to sleep (given that they have beds In their plots.)

On a side note one thing I really wish to see is being able to fuse plots together.

The only place it would be allowed in would be a 3x3 plot space.

also sorry for multiposting (not sure if people hate that or not) But one specific one command block modification would be the alchemy mod. Id love to see it in skyblock instead of the normal island scenario. The other things command blocks would be nice for (though I don't really know if there is a plugin for it) would be a Adventure part of the server. It would mainly consist of dungeons that are made by players/moderators/builders that people would go through, gain loot, and in theory level themselves up. Enchantments and enhancements would be based on what "Level" the player was and how many of the materials they needed were there. In a sense it would be a way to do raids, but with enemies that actually pose a challenge instead of pvp. It was something that I felt was overlooked in basically every server and would be an amazing addition to the server. Of course, this would take time, and it would also require work. I Could contribute to see its fruition if I was given the ability to do so. The reason I brought it up in the first place was because with command blocks summoning the entities in wouldn't be a challenge at all, No laggy mob spawners would have to be used and to make it even easier for less lag the gamemode would be set in adventure mode. Its an Idea I would love to see here because I do love the server and improving it by adding something no other server has would be amazing.

 

It would be interesting, but this server doesn't have many skyblock players , in fact i don't think we even have a skyblock anymore.
