    Hello,

So, as many of you know, I currently reside in Michigan. I moved to this frozen wasteland about 3 years ago, from New Jersey. However, there are still some words and phrases that bother me to this day. Below is a list of words/things that bother me about Michigan. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem.

Sucker - It's a LOLLIPOP. When my sister went for a haircut for the first time, she asked for a "loypap". The person who cut her hair was confused. when we told them that she wanted a "lollipop", she simply said, "oh, you mean a sucker?"

Tennis Shoes - Theyre SNEAKERS. This simply confused me the first time I heard this. Were there really that many shoes that were simply meant for tennis? Nope. Only sneakers.

Pop - ITS SODA OMG THIS BOTHERS ME SO MUCH ITS THE CHEASEIST THING TO SAY "hey you want some pop?" also, soda is eevil.

One of the biggest differences from NJ to MI is the word snow. In NJ, it's pronounced "snow!". in MI, it's pronouncesd "...snow... :( "

Also, michigan has a severe lack of Rita's and cheesteaks, but I imagine that's because it's nowhere near metro-philly.

I bet they call water fountains "bubblers" too. -_- Down here in Georgia it's

Lollipop, tennis shoes, coke. Yes. In Georgia, if it's carbonated, it's coke. It's all coke.

So you are saying if someone is offering you Mountain Dew, they say "do you want some coke?"
