New Chat Suggestion

So me and RjayT2 were msging and i came up with the idea that since there is kinda a problem with people saying "bad stuff" and that theres children and stuff that play here and you cant msg bad things in Global chat or pm so i thought of the idea of adding another chat (idc what you call it) but maybe just for "innapropriate stuff" so people that talk about ya know weird stuff arent getting muted all the time you can keep players happy and noone gets hurt so people can join at there own risk and i feel this would make some of the players that dont like innapropriate stuff happy to stay in global or pm and the other people can go into that chat and wont get in trouble that way SXC keeps players and everyone is happy.

 

Shadowxcraft is family friendly. A private channel to discuss inappropriate topics is strictly prohibited, as it is against the rules.

 

well it depends it can be for the players who just wanna have fun im down for that honestly.. makes it easier

 

I'm a bit iffy on this idea, but the staff have to decide. But these private channels should be moderated. If not, fine.

 

An "inappropriate" chat section has many advantages and disadvantages to it. An advantage is that it COULD help the players who don't wanna be around filthy language stay on the server. A few disadvantages are that number one, the new players might not know the commands to use this chat. Number two, think about it: an inappropriate chat section could make kids be witnessing EXTREMELY horrible things. A five year old could end up learning about things they shouldn't know about until they are in their late teens or early adulthood. Number three, you can end up having predators trying to influence young children into extremely bad things. I think this has more disadvantages than advantages. Not to mention staff will probably have to monitor this. In the end, I have mixed feelings about this, but i am leaning towards the "no" side

Well technically it is "breaking rule 5" but if its a designated chat for just doing that the rule kinda wouldn't apply im assuming it all just depends.

That would be all up to the staff but if it were up to me there probably wouldnt really be an "Age limit" but people again Join at there own risk. (considering you would have to put in a command to get to it)

Well they shouldnt be 24/7 moderated but every once in a while they should be checked on so things dont get too out of hand.

Well, I think what needs to happen is to add different channels. Channels, as in if you notice when you log onto the server a message alpears on your screen "you are currently in 'global' channel". It kinda stinks when players in creative and role-playing, and the whole server can see it. Which is why I think staff should add other "channels" and such. Even though the global chat has its perks, it too has its disadvantages.

 

1. Yeah it could help players who dont wanna be around that stay. 2. we could have an alert for the command when you log into the server. 3. thats only if they join at there own risk. 4. I doubt that would happen but still.
