    Yes, precisely, 321. Because there are moons of other planets hundreds of times larger than Pluto. There is no reason it should be considered a planet.

    Pluto wasn't considered as a planet because it was not functioning like a planet. There might as well have been 8 planets from the start. Human knowledge just keeps expanding.

    It's orbit was not a contributing factor, as Uranus follows a pattern that is different than the others as well.
