The Marriage Feature.

Should it stay or not?

I say no, and here's why:

Minecraft is a fun game for all ages. You can do and be just about anything in Minecraft if you use some creativity and imagination. That's part of what makes the game great. And while some servers are aimed more towards an older teen/young adult crowd, this one seems to be geared more towards the average age of around 12-13.

This isn't a problem, however, with this age group, there is already an air of fascination with topics that are unsavory and against the rules, and I personally feel that such a feature in a server for this age group creates unwanted... thoughts and ideas that can make their way in-game.

Maybe I'm way off, but I do not think so. While many would deny that it creates that or give pros (some of which are valid fun pros), I will say, the human mind is very predictable in most cases, and I think this is no exception.

I believe ShadowXCraft should be a family friendly, child friendly environment free of any oppressive situations or anything that gives the children (or adults) opportunity to stray from said environment and participate in activities that promote conduct such as sexually charged jokes or conversation; a previous server I was involved with had a marriage system and struggled with just this problem, and it's not a problem I want to have on ShadowXCraft.

I agree... and I'd probably get mad if its get removed, as I really like the plugin, I find it useful to let others know you like someone, handy for communicating to your partner without needing /msg, being able to play kiss tag... ugh, I hate the trade plugin which now take the sneak right click away from the marriage plugin... anyway, it make the server more amusing for me.

 

But if someone forgot who they married, the person they married could tp to them
without permission. This would cause a problem in factions (it already has been for one of my faction members)

 

I thought the marry tp got disabled... am I one of the few who actually used the plugin correctly?

 

All u would need to do is disable that feature in factions or get rid it in facs.

 

Kiss tag? .... this is what I was talking about.

 

what wrong with that? BF/GF like to kiss each others, so why wouldn't they play "kiss tag"?
I don't see anything wrong with it at all.

Beside, removing the plugin wouldn't really get rid of kissing, there always a way to kiss, just more fun and pleasing with the plugin.

 

That is a reason why we should only use the marriage plugin properly.
