They wanted to explore for the evening but while they were inside, heavy monsoon rain started falling and water flooded the cave and blocked the exit

Raw sodium has a violent reaction when placed in water...

i know. thats why we called the cops. it exploded

it has small little green metallic specks on it and holding it makes me feel sick. i threw it across the road into the neighbors yard. its their problem now

green speck sound like uranium to me, but not 100% sure
