    I understand many people really like 1.7 but making the server 1.7 compatible would be like a step backwards. We want the server to advance as minecraft advances. Not everyone may like it but some changes are inevitable and this change was one one. One day the server will only be 1.9... That is just something we have to accept. But for now just have as much fun as you possible can on 1.8. :)

    A lot of things on the server will break or stop working if we did this. There would be no way to make this possible.

    We will always be on the latest version of minecraft. There are many reasons to stay on the newest version.
    Here are a few of the reasons:

    1) A lot of new plugins require the newest version
    2) There are a lot of bugs when using very out of date software (Yes, 1.7 is very out of date) including duplication glitches.
    3) 1.7-1.8 servers don't work as well with both clients, and there are compatibility problems.
    4) 1.7 may have an advantage, there should be no advantage to using an older version.
