    Anyone know a serving hosting thing that is free and supports forge. I'm desperate to host a server so my friends can start a modded survival(just for fun). The server host has to be free and hopefully 24/7. Any good suggestions?

    Free hosting is garbage and hard to come by. If you find some there isn't a large chance it will allow custom jars.

    I'm fine if it's "garbage" as long as it doesn't lag like crazy.

    Well it is garbage as in you need to fight to get your server started because during peak hours too many servers are running, when no players on on your server it will turn off quickly, bad during peak hours.

    That means you gave the wrong address or failed to port forward.
    Remember to be careful when giving your IP address to people on the internet, it gives away what state/country you live in, as well as allows them to overload your network equipment if they have the resources.

    PortFoward.com says my port is open but every other website says it's closed.

    Imma just use utorrent

    PortForward Utilitiy is very accurate, have you even tried to get in from another network? website based port testers are terrible and utorrent is a bad idea.
    The PortForward utility work by sending a ping to the host provider and back to your network via the port you indicated, then into the utility which make it a proper port tester, it does that by binding itself to that port which your browser cannot do. (Minecraft work the same way as portforward, binding the port)
    Just make sure to turn off port forward to get the port unbinded for mc to use and then you can reactivate the utility just to make sure mc took over the port (it will say closed if bound correctly by mc unlike before).

    use aternos.net its free and pretty easy to use. only drawback is you have to set th number of players in the server and if there isnt that many players on, it shuts down the server in 30 minutes

    Use server.pro! Its good! Last for an hour but u can renew it all your worlds, builds will be saved allowed until 10 plugins maximum for free!

    The server will close in 10 minutes. You have to fill every spot that you set for maximum players who can join the server.

    Yes. You will have to choose which version the server will be (make sure it is the version of the mod you are downloading). Then I'm not really sure what you have to do as I never experienced modded servers.

    Well they don't have 1.7.10 on spigot or on craftbukkit which is sad.
